Keep the Air You're Paying to Heat

About 1/3 of heat loss in a home is due to air leaks. During your Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® analysis, our Alpine Energy Solutions expert rater will use a Blower Door Test to determine exactly how much air is leaking from your home. First, he'll make sure all of the doors and windows are closed with the exception of the front door. He'll seal the front door opening with plastic leaving room for a large fan facing out. When he turns the fan on, it will de-pressurize your house. The test gives him a measurement of how much air is leaking from your home. Then, he can move throughout your home and pinpoint where the air you're paying to heat is escaping. Every leak you seal will save you money on your energy bills.
